Welcome to the blog of Bagus Rahmat Prabowo, a dedicated public health professional with a wealth of experience and expertise in HIV prevention and treatment. Bagus Rahmat Prabowo, born on August 4th, 1976, in Magelang, Indonesia, holds a Master of Science degree from the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium, where he received a scholarship from the Belgian Directorate for Development Co-operation (DGD). He also obtained his Medical Doctor degree from the Medical Faculty of Padjadjaran University in Bandung, Indonesia.

Bagus has worked in various capacities in the field of public health, particularly in the area of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment. Currently, he serves as the Prevention Technical Officer for UNAIDS in Indonesia, assessing barriers to condom use and implementation of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). He also served as the General Secretary of the Bandung AIDS Commission from 2017 to 2019.
From March 2011 to July 2017, Bagus worked as a National Officer at the HIV Unit of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Indonesia. He was critical in coordinating and implementing HIV prevention and treatment programs. He also served as the Research Coordinator for the HIV Test And Treat (HATI Project) in collaboration with the Kirby Institute at the University of New South Wales from 2014 to July 2017.
Bagus’s commitment to public health extends beyond Indonesia, having also worked as an Area Coordinator for Kalimantan and Sulawesi and Coordinator for CST and PMTCT Program at the National AIDS Commission from January 2009 to February 2011. He also served as a Community-Based Drug Dependency Treatment Coordinator at the National AIDS Commission from June 2009 to 2011.
Furthermore, Bagus has also worked as the Head of the PMTCT Taskforce for UNICEF from March 2008 to January 2009 and as a Clinical Service Officer for Family Health International (FHI – Indonesia) from October 2005 to February 2008. He started his career as a Program Manager and STI doctor at the STI-VCT Reproductive Health Clinics on PKBI West Java from March 2004 to September 2005.
Bagus is a multilingual individual with native proficiency in Indonesian, professional proficiency in English, and working knowledge in French and Dutch. His extensive education, work experience, and language skills make him an exceptional asset to the field of public health.

    Gak muluk-muluk, dedikasi, loyalitasnya tinggi untuk isu kespro termasuk HIV & AIDS…dilihat usianya yang masih muda ini, ke depan pasti dech lebih kontributif utk isu-isu yang tergolong marginal itu tetapi memakan banyak biaya…terutama untuk human resources “para buruh neolib” yang kerja di lingkungan donor yang absurd yang lebih banyak jadi “penghisap” bangsa sendiri tanpa memberi kontribusi..lho?

    Yang jelas kawan Bagus ini adalah figur yang dibutuhkan oleh bangsa ini! kalo cuba dulu punya dokter Ernesto “che” Guevarra, Indonesia punya dr Bagus Kamared from Paris Van Java.. 🙂
